Mr. Venie has handled many high profile cases. Below are some links to recent cases:
A first degree murder for hire case.
Mr. Venie's client was accused of murder based upon being a get-a-way driver for a hitman. Mr. Venie's client maintained his innocence and wanted to go to trial even though he faced the death penalty. Mr. Venie hung the jury at trial and was able to get the client probation. Instead of getting life without parole or the death penalty, that client is now out working and enjoying life:

Three counts of rape, client facing possible 45 to life sentence.
Mr. Venie's client was accused of raping three women. The case was beyond ridiculous. The prosecution believed that the women had not consented to sex because our client told them if they did not have sex with him the devil would come to them in their dreams and rape them. The prosecution claimed this was non consensual sex. Mr. Venie got all of these ridiculous charges dismissed and my client went home with no jail time, no sex charges, no sex offender registration, he kept his job and resumed his life. http://www.signonsandiego.com/uniontrib/20040918/

Mr. Venie’s client drove drunk and killed a teenager who was on his way home from a date. The client then left the scene. Mr. Venie saved the client from a life sentence:

A hit and run/street racing murder.
Mr. Venie worked with a team of lawyers on a multiple murder case involving street racing. This was the first street racing case in the country that was charged as a homicide. Mr. Venie's client was accused of driving one of the cars in the race and then leaving the scene of the accident after the other driver hit another car and caused two deaths. Mr. Venie and that team of lawyers got the client acquitted of murder (found not guilty). The case was actually made into a Law and Order episode, one of the few in which the defense won a not guilty verdict.

Grave robbing
Harkening back to the 19th century, Mr. Venie represented an accused grave robber. The client was accused of stealing hundreds of brass vases and ornaments from graves. Despite rabid media attention and a pervasive hostile environment in which to defend the case, Mr. Venie saved the client from a 18-to-life sentence and kept his face out of the papers and off of television.
